immigration and arrogance

Okay. I read the editorial pages in the paper every day and have a question. Did the vast majority of people that took the time to attend high school flunk geography class? Mexico is part of America! Mexicans are Americans. There just happens to be a river called the Rio Grande that separates two countries.
I lived south of the border for several years and was treated with nothing but kindness. There was the occasional snicker I would receive when speaking Spanish with my pronounced, Texas drawl and while I usually deny this accusation, I probably –sounded – liaak ah wassa talkin’ liaak this.
The only thing that makes aliens illegal is a stupid law that makes them so. Relax and learn to say “So What?” Nobody is in danger here except for the fact that we are alive, which will eventually result in death, borders or not.

the only thing i can say about this is it sounds like a clear cut case of the powers that be (stupid) saying: "let's find scapegoats for what is, in reality, a NON-issue, make the majority of people think it is a major issue, and hopefully we'll distract them from all the shady crap we're trying to keep on the down low." crimony!

Yeah, what is the idea with the immigration law being tossed around in congress now, something about making illegal immigration a felony? Right. Like we have the room in the jails to house these "felons" oh, and yeah, like we can afford to house them. And whether or not people agree with it. Undocumented workers do a hell of a lot of jobs that nobody else wants any part of. I read somewhere some consevative asswipe(cant remember name, someone that has too many peeps listening though) sayin' that if all the illegals were deported that plenty of middle class americans would step up and do the work. Right! I'd like to see that. I wonder if they'd send their kids down to Denny's to wash dishes, (not saying that dennys hires 'illegals' but would bet a hundred bucks that if I went to the nearest denny's right now that the dish-dog would be from Mexico.)
The same idiots who are all for the iraq war, but wouldn't go themselves or have their kids go. Let someone else do it! Sorry 'bout the windbag comment.
